Community Advisory Committee

Huntly Common welcomes expressions of interest from community members to participate in a Community Advisory Committee (CAC).

The CAC will help guide the Bendigo Creek Reclamation and Rehabilitation project at the Huntly Streamline Reserve. The group will be responsible for ensuring that direct feedback is sought from a range of stakeholders and community groups. It is proposed that the CAC will be composed of up to 10 local community stakeholders representing a broad cross-section of interests, with an Independent Chair and representatives of Huntly Common attending each meeting. The composition of the CAC may expand as issues are raised.

The CAC is not an approvals body and does not have a regulatory function. However, it is a vital source of insight that will help to guide Huntly Common on community issues about the project.

Expectations of CAC Members

Membership of the CAC is by invitation from Huntly Common on advice from a range of sources, including the current CAC members and the TRG. The CAC’s role will be complete at the end of the EES preparation stage.

CAC meetings

A formal agenda will be set for each meeting and distributed at least 5 business days before each meeting. Minutes will be recorded for each meeting and distributed to all CAC members within two weeks of each meeting, noting agreed actions and commitments.

The agenda will provide project information as it becomes available from EES studies or other more general project activities and will reflect member requests for information.

Independent Chair

An independent chair will be responsible for the selection of CAC members and responsible for running each meeting. Huntly Common will consult the Chair when designing the meeting agenda.
